Last week I received 3 replies to my weekly Inbox Club newsletter, and they all had the same theme: “Where do I even start?”

As an example, one of the ladies said: “My biggest challenge currently is how do I make that initial move for starting a business. I keep buzzing with ideas but they fizzle down in a few days and I start believing that they won’t work anymore. “

And I thought it was time to dive in deeper and show you what is actually possible when you make that decision and commit to it.

If you’ve been sitting on a business idea, especially a SaaS or tech product, and wondering how to validate it while still working your full-time job, this article is for you.

I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes journey of Ruxandra, a tech executive and mother, who validated her business idea, built her first MVP, and launched her beta while staying in her corporate role. All that over eight weeks in the summer. When everybody was slowing down and taking time off, she went all in.

Her story is a real example of what’s possible for executive women in tech when they have the right structure, the right framework, and the right guidance. And it perfectly illustrates the question so many of my clients ask me.

“Can I validate my business idea while working full time?”

Yes. And Ruxandra’s experience shows you how.

Why Validating a Business Idea While Working Full Time Feels Impossible

Most women in tech who come to me say the same thing:

“I don’t have the time to build a business idea. I barely have time to log off at 5 p.m. to pick up my kids, and when I do, I feel so guilty.”

Ruxandra felt the same.

She works in a senior product role in a large corporate environment. She is also a mother. She is a high achiever. And the mental load was intense.

And as a mother of two kids under the age of three, I understand this feeling deeply.

This past autumn, both of my kids caught every virus imaginable. My work schedule flipped upside down. And of course, I caught it too. I even delivered my September masterclasses with a fever, heavily medicated just to stay coherent. I had almost no voice for the first one and sounded like Tony Robbins for the next two.

Underneath it all was guilt.

Guilt that I couldn’t deliver at the level I expected of myself.
Guilt that my body couldn’t keep up with my ambition.
Guilt from trying to be fully present at home and fully performant at work at the same time.

Trying to run an ambitious career while parenting small children is already an enormous load. Adding the desire to build a business on top of that can feel impossible.

Unless you have a system that actually works for your brain.

This is exactly the problem Ruxandra set out to solve.

She wanted to address what she saw around her every day: high-performing tech executives, especially parents, overwhelmed by never-ending to-dos and constantly feeling behind, both on their work and on their family commitments.

She wanted to help them work efficiently and feel mentally lighter.

She had the vision. She just didn’t know how to turn it into a business or where to start.

Before joining my Weatherproof Business™ Launchpad this summer, she told me she felt like she was “spinning in circles.”

She read about MVPs. She understood the concept of customer validation. But she didn’t know how to apply it. And she didn’t know how to validate her business idea while working full time without burning out.

This is the point where most potential founders give up. For Ruxandra, it became her turning point.

The Moment Everything Shifted: Structure Over Guesswork

Inside the Weatherproof Business™ Launchpad, everything changed.

Instead of trying to build a perfect product, she learned how to validate fast. She learned to focus on:

  • testing before building
  • real customer insights
  • simplifying the idea so it can actually move
  • the minimum viable step rather than the perfect solution

She told me:

“It gave me structure: what the steps are, what to focus on.”

That structure allowed her to make progress even in the busiest seasons of her corporate life. It also allowed her to validate her idea without needing to quit her job or “find more time.”

This is exactly why the Launchpad exists: to give women in tech a system that fits into their lives, not one that adds more stress to an already full schedule.

How Ruxandra Validated Her Business Idea While Working Full Time

1. She Started With Real Conversations

She ran 7 customer interviews focused on understanding:

  • the problem her audience felt
  • the emotional triggers
  • the daily realities of overwhelmed executives
  • how they wanted to work differently

These interviews strengthened her niche and shaped her product direction.

2. She Created a Simple Lead Magnet That Did the Heavy Lifting

Instead of building a complicated MVP, she created a free Productivity Type Quiz.

It became:

  • her insight engine
  • her lead generation tool
  • her first test of client results

This approach is one of the most efficient ways to validate a business idea while working full time because once it’s created, it works in the background for you.

3. She Built an MVP in Iterations

Her product includes different versions based on four productivity personality types.

Instead of trying to build everything at once, she learned to:

  • build one version
  • test it
  • get feedback
  • refine
  • only then create the next variation

This approach dramatically reduced overwhelm and accelerated clarity.

4. She Tested With Real Users

By the end of the program:

  • 1 user was already testing her system
  • 3 more were on the waitlist
  • more were quietly expressing interest

The biggest breakthrough for her was seeing how real people interpreted her system. Something you only discover through testing, not thinking.

5. She Created a Clear Roadmap and Beta Launch Plan

She validated enough of her idea to confidently move forward and prepare for a beta launch.

Validation is not about being perfect. It’s about gaining clarity fast so you can move forward with confidence.

What Makes This So Impressive? She Did All of This While Working Full Time

No resigning.
No sabbatical.
No unrealistic hours.

Just structured, intentional action.

People often say they don’t have time. What they actually lack is a roadmap.

Once Ruxandra had the roadmap, she made consistent progress, even with a demanding career and young children at home.

Her story proves that you don’t need more hours. You need a better method.

The Result: A Validated Tech Product With Real Demand

By the end of her 8 weeks in the Weatherproof Business™ Launchpad, Ruxandra had:

  • a validated audience
  • a clear problem to solve
  • a functioning MVP
  • a lead-generating quiz
  • 7 customer interviews
  • a structured version of her product
  • 1 active tester
  • 3 more beta users on her waitlist
  • a roadmap for next steps

All while working full time.

This is exactly what validating a business idea should look like: simple, focused, efficient, and clear.

Support Ruxandra’s Beta Launch While It’s Still Free

What Her Story Means for You

If you have a business idea and you worry you don’t have the time, the clarity, or the energy to pursue it, Ruxandra is proof that you can validate your idea while working full time.

You don’t need to be ready.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You don’t need to quit your job.

You need:

  • a structured, proven method
  • real customer conversations
  • small, consistent steps
  • accountability to stay focused

This is the exact journey I guide you through in the Weatherproof Business™ Launchpad, which opens again in 2026.

Until then, let Ruxandra’s story inspire you to take your next small step.

It might be the one that changes everything.
