Why Women in Tech and SaaS Are My Focus as a Business Coach

One of the most common questions I get is, “Why do you focus on women in tech and SaaS?”

It’s a fair question and one I’ve reflected on often. The answer is both deeply personal and highly practical.

I’ve spent over a decade in the tech world, co-founding and scaling my SaaS business, Le VPN, and working with over 1,100 executives as a business coach. Along the way, I’ve realized that women in tech—especially those looking to transition into entrepreneurship—are the people I connect with best. They’re also the clients I deliver the most transformative results for.

In this article, I’ll walk you through why I chose to focus on women in tech and SaaS, the unique challenges they face when starting their own businesses, and how my coaching addresses those challenges.

1: Why Women in Tech?

When I look back on my journey, it’s clear that tech has been the thread connecting every stage of my career. From my first job in a fintech startup Riskdata to co-founding Le VPN to working in tech-forward environments, I’ve always felt at home in this world of innovation and problem-solving.

But it wasn’t just familiarity that drew me to working with women in tech—it was relatability.

I’ve walked in their shoes. I understand the challenges of navigating male-dominated industries, juggling demanding roles, and dreaming of something more—something purpose-driven.

Most of my professional network, and even many of my closest friends, are in tech. It felt natural to build a coaching practice where I could leverage this shared experience.

Coaching over 1,100 executives showed me that I resonate most with women in tech. They’re driven, creative, and resourceful. They often come to me with incredible ideas and the ambition to match. But what makes them exceptional is also what makes their challenges unique.

2: Why SaaS?

If you’re wondering why SaaS (software as a service) businesses specifically, it’s because they’re a perfect fit for tech professionals. SaaS combines the innovation of tech with the scalability and efficiency that entrepreneurs crave.

In my own experience with Le VPN, I saw firsthand how SaaS allows you to build a business that’s both impactful and scalable. The recurring revenue model creates financial stability, while the tech backbone means you can serve a global audience without exponential overhead.

SaaS businesses also align beautifully with the skills women in tech already have. Many of my clients come from backgrounds in engineering, product management, or tech leadership. They’re already equipped to excel in this space—they just need guidance to channel their expertise into entrepreneurship.

Take one of my clients, for example, who transitioned from a VP role in a tech company to founding a SaaS platform that helps small businesses manage remote teams. She leveraged her years of experience in team management and operational efficiency to create a product that solved a real problem. Today, her SaaS business is thriving, and she’s finally achieving the work-life balance she’d been chasing for years.

3: Challenges Women in Tech Face When Starting a Business

Over countless conversations with clients and peers, I’ve identified three key challenges women in tech face when starting a business:

1: Lack of Clarity

Starting a business is overwhelming. There are so many possibilities, and it’s easy to feel paralyzed by indecision.

One of my clients, a software engineer, came to me with five different SaaS ideas she was considering. She felt stuck because she didn’t know which one to pursue.

Together, we revisited her “why” and identified the problem she was most passionate about solving. Once that clarity clicked, she was able to focus her energy on building a single, impactful product.

How I help:

I guide my clients through exercises to define their priorities and create a roadmap. It’s about cutting through the noise and focusing on what matters most.

2: Lack of Confidence

Even with a great idea, self-doubt creeps in. Women in tech often worry about whether their idea is good enough or if they’re ready to make the leap into entrepreneurship.

One of my clients, a product manager, had spent years building innovative solutions for her employer. But when it came to launching her own SaaS business, she hesitated.

She didn’t know if people would pay for her product. Using my framework, we validated her idea through customer interviews and a simple MVP. Seeing real customers respond positively gave her the confidence to move forward.

How I help:

I provide tools and strategies to validate ideas, helping clients replace uncertainty with actionable insights. Many of my free resources are available on my website.

3. Lack of Time and Consistent Progress

Most of my clients are building their businesses while still working in demanding tech roles. Finding the time to make progress can feel impossible.

One client, a senior engineer at a global tech firm, struggled to dedicate time to her SaaS idea.

We designed a plan where she committed just five focused hours per week to her business. By prioritizing high-impact tasks and staying consistent, she launched her product within six months—all while maintaining her full-time job.

How I help:

I teach clients how to make the most of limited time, breaking down big goals into manageable steps and building consistency. Watch the replay of one of my masterclass that walks you through my system.

Conclusion: Why Women in Tech and SaaS Are My Focus

I chose to focus on women in tech and SaaS because it’s where I can make the biggest impact.

My journey in tech, combined with years of coaching experience, gives me a unique ability to understand and support this incredible group of women.

Their challenges are real, but so is their potential. With clarity, confidence, and a clear plan, they can create businesses that are not only profitable but also deeply aligned with their values and aspirations.
